Slow as **** take a look.
My friend has a 96 LX. His car is slow as **** and we cant figure out why and I was just seeing if anyone has any ideas. He doesnt have very few miles but I think the car was beaten before he had it so that doesnt help. He has CAI, header to testpipe and muffler. Both his intake and exhaust are VERY and i mean very loud and they dont sound right his intake hurts your ears when he goes by. The motor has no topend what so ever the power dies at like 4 and the low end is terrible 2. any ideas what it could be? It almost like bogs if u punch it it dont go anywhere it just bogs. He wants to swap it but before he does i am just curious what it could be? maybe bent valves or something? Thanks for your help.

English = your friend.
That aside... check your spark plugs. See if they're black or white, or have signs of pre-det.

How many miles EXACTLY are on the engine?

Has he replaced/checked the spark plugs, fuel filter, injectors, distributor cap.....all the little maintenance things. Could just need a good tune-up.

Any number of things..too much fuel..not enough spark..slippnig clutch. I don't know how else to help you without seeing the car. Pull the plugs and check to see if it's running rich/lean.

Those are the things that I would assume first, along with a failing ignitor or distributor. There's just too many possibilities.

Re: (BrynnTheSlut)
Nearing 90k...he should just get his service at Honda, including a new timing belt/water pump. If there is anything wrong, they will more than likely find it.

he probably should have gotten 2.25" piping. Which motor is this on and what is done to it? With just boltons i'm guessing he shouldn't have gotten 2.5".

Re: (SOHC_MShue)
Loss of power.. I would say do a valve adjustment, timing adjustment, then replace the fuel filter (if not done) If he has an FPR then set it to the right setting. Now when the car is at idle does it sound ok or does it bogg ?
