Sick Z6 fix with Y8 parts or swap?
Ok I have a 93 ex with a d16z6 with a bad head gasket and water pump. I have a good running d16y8 long block with a new timing belt and water pump. I was planning on swapping motors but I am missing a few parts needed to the y8 that dont work from the Z6(oil dipstick, timing covers) Would it be better to just swap the y8 head and timing belt onto the z6 bottom end with a new head gasket? I dont know if this is even possible, what should I do?

I guess I could do that but I think the z6 head may be warped or need machine work I cant afford or have time to do. I guess the cheapest AND easiest option would be to just swap the motor? I have done plenty of motor swaps and repairs on V8 cars and trucks but I have never worked on an import timing belt or head and don't feel confident tackling anything without input from you guys first so thanks!

Before you dive off the deep end into overcomplicating things, pull the head and inspect it. See if it needs to be resurfaced. No need to prepare for ten feet of snow when the weather channel is calling for a light dusting.

Yes but in order to pull the head I need a new gasket timing belt and water pump to even put it back on and I can't have the car down for more than a weekend. This is a daily driver.
I guess my best option would be to just swap the motor. I will get the parts Im missing this weekend then tackle inspecting and repairing the z6 after. I can always sell the z6 for cash because honestly I dont care what engine I have in the car as long as it runs.
