Si to GSR brakes???
I managed to get GSR front suspension and was thinking about puting it on my EG... i was wondering though... dont you have to have the master cylinder to actually have the difference of braking power??? if not ... what could i do other than steel braided brake lines to feel better braking with the GSR front suspension?

Re: Si to GSR brakes??? (92SiBlu)
15/16th MC from 91 civic ex (unless the si already has that size, check on the passenger side of the MC, its stamped)
SS lines
new rotors/pads (be careful in pad choice, there are tradeoffs in heat ranges/grip/dust etc...) If you don't mind dust, I've liked my axxis ultimates on the street. I run street pads and switch to track pads though.

Re: Si to GSR brakes??? (92SiBlu)
from my reaserch i have been doing all 92-95 hatch's have the 13/16mc
92-93 SI hatch's have smaller rotor's then the 94-95 SI's with ABS. the 94-95's use the same rotor as the 04-01 integra (non typeR) but use a different caliper.
Now as much info as i can find says that ALL hatchs use the 13/16th MC i don't think it is REALLY needed to run the 15/16th as i have felt plenty of great pedals with integra front brakes and a 13/16th mc

Second that. I have a '92 si.
The rear 92~95 disk brakes are the same as 94~01.
So you don't have to worry about upgrading them if you already have them. When I did my gsr brake upgrade I got the whole suspension so I swapped the rears for the newer bushings and components and I couldn't tell any difference in size.
The only other thing you absolutely need when you do the fronts is a 4040 prop valve so you have the correct front rear bias. The master cylinder is nice but its not necessary so it can come later.

sorry to burst your bubble guys, but he mostly correct....
94/95 civic si w/abs have the 15/16th master. aside from that, everything else is correct.

yes, it is possible. that is currently how my 94 si is setup. the car originally had abs, but i removed it. i then bought the non abs prop valve and front brakelines.

It isn't NEEDED, but it makes for a very tangible difference. I had done multiple track events with the gsr brakes (front and rear) and the stock MC. After changing to the 15/16th there was a very immediate difference in pedal pressure.
I really wish I had done it sooner....

see with me, if i can keep the brakes from fading, which i can with ducting, id rather have the extra pedal room to modulate the pedal so i don't lock um up.

Re: Si to GSR brakes??? (slammed_93_hatch)
If your not changing the rear brakes, you don't need the proportioning valve. This valve only changes line pressure to the rear brakes.
If your swapping in the 10.2 inch brakes and you don't have ABS, I would recomend getting the 15/16ths master cylinder from the 91 civic EX four door. This way you don't have to change brake boosters or flare brake lines. It will make a difference in pedal travel.
If your car does have ABS, then you should already have the bigger 10.2" front brakes (92-95 si w/abs has 10.2 brakes), so forget it.
P.S. New pads, hardware & rotors are always a plus when installing used suspension parts. I suggest brembo blanks & axxis ultimates for street, with autozone hardware.

see thats were your wrong, ONLY the 94-95 SI WITH ABS have the 10.2. and as rodney has corrected me on the fact that these years and models also had the 15/16th MC.
92-93 SI didn't have ABS, at least not that, B18c5eh2 was able to find or that i was able to find
