with 300 whp you should be able to handle stock axles, if you're mounts are good. But beefed up axles can't hurt. Also depends on what your doing, ie: slicks or street tires

Just get two sets of axles from part store with lifetime warranty and swap them when you snap one

whats the point of getting axels that are not rated for the WHP and if he keeps snapping them that is way more pain than need it do it right once seriously your advice was not helping the guy

i think you should get the beefier axels they will not hurt at 400WHP but https://honda-tech.com/forums/drag-racing-36/how-much-hp-can-stock-axles-handle-2288606/ there is plenty of people running more

Truth. Nothing worse than hearing a CLUNK or SNAP as your axle is destroyed by your engines torque and then having all of your transmission fluid flow onto the racetrack.

not to mention taking the chance of throwing that broken shaft end though the side of the case, as its spinning around at 140 km/h

Great, thanks for all your help guys, cept the buy and replace guy.. seriously?? lol
Im still not sure what Im going to do. Im not cheap by any means I've just spent a lot of money on my car and if I can spend less its nice so. It seems I can get new stock ones for around $125 shipped and 400 hp ones for around $350 unless I can find any cheaper aftermarket ones on here.

Thanks again dudes! I gotta get some pics of my engine work up on here!

My method...

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.. Run stockies.. if you have problems then upgrade.. It's also a known fact that GSR axles are in face stronger than LS or Del-sol/CivSI axles.. The CV's are a few mm larger.. And of course the ITR axles are stronger yet, but you need a 5 lug swap to run them.. LOL

Personally, if I planned on making 400+ HP on a FWD car, I would immediately swap the axles out for something designed for more power. A broken axle can cause serious and expensive damage and loss of control.

Never had an OEM axle snap at 500whp going on 3 years of beating on it (prelude), 450 who on a d16z6 OEM axles not one problem going on 2 years of trying to blow it up!

Streets or slicks? How do you launch? So many variables, I would rather be safe. Albeit TRUE oem is probably better than lower level aftermarket/reman.

you really only need to upgrade axles if your snapping them like toothpicks

even then you probably need to revise your driving style. axles should not snap at the shaft. preload on launches.

upgrade the axles. if you plan to be at the race track with slicks then u deffinatly need to. even for the street, i suggest drive shaft shop. i have ran hasport before and they were a bad investment. only stage 1 though
