Default Short Shifter Question?

I just recently finished my H22 swap into my 92 Hatch. I love the fact that its hydraulic and all, but ths shifting feels funny. I was wondering if anyone has a short shifter in theirs, and If so what model?. Do I order one for the car year?, or for the car the motor came out of?

I'm pretty sure it is but if it is most pple are probably running cable > hydro conversion kits.

@ OP:
You'd probably need to get one for the prelude because the shift linkage is way diff than a civic..

Yeah, its a hydro tranny for sure, dont know if it was a conversion because it looks stock. So I should order a short shifter for a prelude? Being that the shifters are very weird. The car rips and the shifting just isnt how i want it to be between gears. The best autocross car Ive ever driven, but i need some help with the way it shifts, anyone else?

Any Prelude/Accord that had an H22 in it already has a hydraulic transmission.

Instead of using a solid shift linkage, they all use cables.

Edit: For the O.P., you can cut your shifter and rethread the ****. There are also a few companies that make a cantilever that shortens the throw, but keeps the shifter the same height. I'd leave well enough alone, and deal with the way a cable shifter feels, numb.

It's cable. You're not going to change the "feeling" of the shifts with a short shifter.

What is it that you don't like about it? It is possible that the cables are binding.

Its def a hydro tranny. The gearbox just feels like it needs to be tightened or something. Just feels funny. It shifts fine into every gear, but it could use an adjustment or something

I was referring to the shifting mechanism and not the clutch.

On a normal Civic, you have two solid rods connecting the shifter to the transmission.

The H22 uses cables instead of rods, so it will feel differently. Not as direct or connected.
