yes it will work i know from haveing done it already, i had a 91 std hatch that i swaped a d16y8 into with a 88 sl3 si trans also i had 92 integra front barkes on the car i used and get this 92-95 axles b/c they fit into the trans and the integra hubs, and as for shift linkage i sold the std trans and shift linkage so all i had layin around was 92-95 linkage so i put it on evrything lined up and bolted in and has been working great for almost a year now, but the best part isi didnt know that the trans was out of an 88 i was told it was from a 90 and u know 88 and 89 have the same spline count and the 90-91 have a different count, so not knowing i ordered and clutch and flywheel kit for a 91and of couse it didnt workthe splines were diffso i was going waste my money and oder another clucth kit for a 88-89 trans so istead i bought an 87 prelude si clutch disc that has the same spline count as an 88 civic but is the same size as the 91 disc hows that for a frankenstien swap
