I've been reading a lot about hatches being stolen as of late. I plan on installing a couple of fuel cut off switches, getting an autolock, and hopefully an alarm one day soon. I already know that it's impossible to protect my car 100% but layers of security will hopefully prevent thieves from stealing my car. If they want it bad enough I know they can steal it though. I have an ek and was wondering a few things:

1. I heard there is a way to keep thieves from using the brake by placing an ordinary padlock in a loop behind the brake? Is this true, and if so, can you please explain how to.

2. Also I've heard of people hooking up blow horns to their car so that when thieves pop the hood the blow horn goes off. How do you set one up?

3. Is taking out your ECU everytime you go to the movies bad because everytime you take it out and put it back in it has to reset/reprogram.
