Default ruberized undercoating question

i got my new exhaust system installed and everything works great. the problem i have is the new pipeing is bigger and now sometimes rattles against the heatshield infront of the gas tank. I've had my car up on a lift and there is clearance but not much...and i can't bent the heatshield up or bend the exhaust down. would spraying a ruberized undercoating on this area at least lesten the rattle? I think it would but i'm also worried about the heat that would be there and if the stuff would melt or start on fire. If anyone has experience in this please post up

thanks

yep. i guess you need to find a non-flammable coating if you don't want to lose the heatshield.

id just wrap that part of the exhaust in header wrap and secure it with metal zip ties. just my two cents
