Default Rubber cover coming off from Tie Rod?

I changed my oil today and noticed that the rubber boot that is in the steering gear box is coming off. Please refer to items #21 and #22, they are separated from item #10. Now my question is, what will this do to my car, can I keep driving like this until I get it fixed or do I have to fix it ASAP? I drove the car and it feels normal.

You can drive it for a while, but you should replace it as soon as you can.

Well, I didn't noticed it when I did my last oil change. I am not too worried about it since I has had no effect on the way the car drives, but I know I have to change it eventually. Just want to know if it will lead to more serious problems.

Just replace the boot.

It's just to keep dirt and grime out of there.

You will eventually find play in your inner tie rods if dust/grime gets in there. The boots aren't cheap either, but better safe than sorry.
