Rpm issues
I have a y8 and between shifts the rpms like to hang before dropping. Could it be clutch related? Or would a vacuum leak cause it? At the moment i have a hose bypassing the pcv because I was to lazy to replace the hose from the block to the pcv. Another question. There is an annoying amount of chatter from the head. I dont like dealing with valve lashes at all. I've heard a z6 head would be semi better. Would timing be the same or would i need an adjustable timing gear. Thanks. Really appreciate the help!

Clutch slipping?
Throttle body dirty and throttle cable adjusted too tight?
What does “chatter” sound like?

Re: Rpm issues
Sorry let me clarify the rpm issue. It does not drop as fast as it should at all. During gear shifts or while just sitting not in gear. So not clutch related. Could be dirty throttle body. The cable isn't to tight. Also the chatter just sounds like the lash needs to be adjusted. Just excessive valve noise. Might just go ahead and adjust them because i need to replace the valve cover gasket anyways. Oh and also i don't have a pcv valve. When i got it the hose was tore right where it comes through the manifold. So there was that open port on the intake causing it to sit around 3k rpm. I just put a vacuum hose connector (the piece you can slide in a hose and connect another one to the other end). I am going through and replacing some general stuff today. The last owner did not take care of it at all. Thanks

Re: Rpm issues
Jump service connector and hook up a timing gun.
Turn distributor until red mark on crank pulley aligns perfectly with pointer on lower timing belt cover.
NGK plugs

Re: Rpm issues
How many secs passed before you engage the clutch and then the rpms still hang, meaning your left foot is off the clutch pedal, you're in gear and your right foot is on the gas?

Re: Rpm issues
Ok thats the one i thought it was.
My foot is completely off the gas during shifts. Also when i take my foot off the gas then push in the clutch the rpms jump up about 200-500.

I've came to the conclusion that the valves do need adjusted. But it idles at 1500 at start up until hot. Also I have a cps code. Found that somebody put the wires next to the alternator belt. It ate into the wires. Can I cut it and rewire it? Thanks
