Default Reverse doesnt work after swap.

What's up people..If you havent followed..My swap is now working!!!

Anyways, my reverse doesnt work! Yes my tranny was taken off during the swap. And when we put it on the shift fork was sticking out, so to fix it, we just kept stepping on the clutch to pop it in, which it did.

But now my reverse doesnt want to go in..Any suggestions on what can cause this?

(the motor was tilted completely sideways to put on the tranny)

You sure the Reverse worked before you put the motor in? Sounds like you just have a bad Reverse gear.

Yea it worked fine...Never did i have to force it in, nor did i have to do the 1st gear to reverse trick.

EDIT: The gear does not go in at all, it just doesnt wanna go...My friends told me when that happened to them, they just turned it on, and jammed it in until it set back in place.

Did you bleed the clutch maybe? Also did you put tranny fluid back in?

With the car off can you go into gear? Or is it like this all the time? Maybe something hit it and took a gear out? Im out of ideas, free bump.

bleed the clutch?

Ya tranny fluid went in, a good 3 quarts worth. I know its not the oil thats gonna let me go into all 5 gears smoothly, then just make reverse impossible to go into.

Takes all the air out of the clutch lines, giving you clutch pressure to push the clutch and go into gears.

maybe your shift linkage are on the wrong side? not sure if you took those off or not.. probably not..

i think you busted loose the fork shift lever (i think thats what its called)inside the trans. two thin bolts hold it down.

Ahh..Im not too sure about that.

It goes into all other 5 gears just fine. Reverse is just non exsistant wether the car is on or off..

Im not too stressed over this, although i might as well not drive. Im just happy that after 3 weeks, a simple *** gsr swap finally runs.

No dropping of the tranny..Just had to tilt my motor side ways to put it on easier before dropping it in.

The clutch pedal feels fine, a little stiffer than it normally felts...But nothing to alarm me.

Great suggestions people..keep them comming

UPDATE:

I guess having 1qt of oil in the tranny is no good..But still, would this be the reason for all gears working, and not just reverse?

Meh, either way, taking off the tranny tonight. seems like i have no choice.

UPDATEEEE!

I am taking off the tranny right now (well everythings ready to go, so i should just pull it right off)

But anyways, I have a question.

You know that lever that goes into that square cut into the tranny from the clutch line. Is it sopposed to have shaft play?

Like, mine..It has MAJOR shaft play, I can wiggle it about in every direction basically, like its gonna come out, but it doesnt.
