Replacing stock Del Sol seat belts?
Hello,
I need to replace the passenger side seat belt.
Does anyone have any tips on how to do it easily? I don't want to screw up my interior!
Can I just replace the belt and leave the mechanicals in place?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I own an EK coupe, not a del sol, so things might be different.
The time and work it takes to just replace the belt is not worth it at all. The reel assembly is very complicated with the locking mechanism and the inversion mechanism that locks the belts if the car is upside down.
You will need to remove your interior trim in the back, and probably pull up the rear carpet in the foor wells.
If yours is similar to mine, your seat belt reel will be inset in the chasis, and you will need to unbolt your side impact bar/chassis reinforcement brace to get to the reel. Two bolts hold the reel on, once its out you unbolt the guide on your b pillar, and the anchor on the floor, then bolt in the new reel, and reassemble everything.

Re: (OMGWTFBBQ!)
Take it to your local Dealer, and get an appointment to have them replaced.
They are under lifetime guarantee if you haven't wrecked the car or used the belt to tow another car or something. (Seen weirder things lol)
I got mine done last year for free, and its great to have belts that retract again!!
