seat belt locked (will not extend)
So I went to put on my seat belt in my 93 Del Sol Si, but it will not extend. It's locked up like I just slammed on the breaks. This happened about a month ago but after two days it released. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas as to what can cause this? If I had to replace the seat belt, could I use one from a Civic, or is the Del Sol's different?

correct
call your local dealer... they'll have you make an appointment for cleaning. If cleaning doesn't help (which it probably won't), they'll order the seatbelts and schedule you a day/time to come in for service. It's completely free. My invoice said $330, and I didn't pay a dime.

Re: seat belt locked (will not extend)
Bump - I took the rear seat belts out of the car while I was cleaning and then had to put them back in and now they're doing the same thing. Can I just bring in the belts themselves or do I have to bring the entire car in? (I have a 95 si)

Surely the entire car needs to be taken in. Otherwise for all they know, you could be bringing in junkyard seatbelts, exchanging them, and selling the new ones for profit.

If you've taken your seatbelts out of the car (which will be obvious to a mechanic since you'll have to remove the protective plastic), will Honda still honor that warranty? I had my belts out of my car with plans to replace them with black belts (I did a color change and the interior is no longer blue). Problem is that 2 of the black belts I had locked up and were unusable, so I just put the old blue belts back in. They work fine, but I always wondered if they did start to go, would Honda get weird because they've obviously been out of the car once?
Also, I'd considered just putting the bad belts in along with the good ones and taking to Honda, but again, I suspect they'll nix that since the car color code shows it was a blue interior. I sure don't want to get a set of new blue belts. :/

They will only give you seatbelts that match your color code. I asked when I had mine done.
And yes, they will still honor them if they have been removed and put back in (which is apparent to them due to the missing protective plastic as you mentioned). I actually removed my plastic because it was crumbling and they still honored the warranty. They give you new plastic too :D
