im running a usdm gsr in my ek its running obd1 what would i need to do to change it up to obd2 because im planning on gettin it bar legal and what exactly is the difference between odb1 and obd2

what year is the motor? what year is your car? what harness do you have?

you most likely are running an OBD2a or 2b to OBD1 conversion harness.

well which harness do you have (i dont think you can use an integra harness in a civic.)? you most likely have your original obd2a harness with wires added for vtec, so you would just need an obd2a ecu. which for a gsr i think its a p72?

from what you're telling me your motor is from an obd2a gsr, and your hatch is obd2a

so you could get a 96-98 EX harness and a p72 ecu..

but what harness is in your car, now? i understand you're running an obd1 ecu, but you most likely have a conversion harness.

for BAR, you just need to be sure you have everything wired up properly, all sensors plugged in and all emissions items hooked up correctly. (from my knowledge, im in the process of trying to BAR my hatch with b16a2.)

Yes. If you used your original Civic EWH and used a jumper harness to connect to an obd1 ecu then all you will need is an obd2a p72 ECU. If you swapped harnesses then you will need to get an obd2a harness and the ECU.

hey this is completely off topic but im doing the exact same swap... what did you do about the power steering hose. mine wont fit into the pulley assembely thing

so i found out i have a obd2 to obd1 "jumped harness" what does that mean and what do i have to do to get it completely to obd2?

Just pull the jumper out and throw in an obd2a P72. Thats it.

if you have a conversion harness, you should just unplug it and plug in an OBD2a p72

This shows how to convert a JDM motor but the basics are the same. You need to make the OBD2A P72 ECU you should be using very happy. Which means all of the listed sensors need to be there and working properly. Secondary O2 sensor with a working cat, CKF sensor, purge solenoid,etc Since you have a GSR you will need to have functioning secondary butterflies and since your car was swapped to OBD1 with the engine swap I doubt any of that stuff was connected.

since mines was off a usdm motor and it was orginally obd2 i would just need to get the harness and it will hook up...correct?

an OBD2A P72 from a 96-98 integra GSR will plug right into your EK harness. But that doesn't mean the rest of the swap was done correctly, like adding the second O2 sensor, wiring in the CKF sensor, and if your "ek" was a DX the knock sensor

No. Just an ECU. As long as you aren't having any other problems, as someone above mentioned, such as the knock sensor and o2 then you will just need to pull out the jumper harness and plug in the obd2a ecu.

but i thought my whole harnass was obd1 then how can the obd2 directly plug in?

Thats what the conversion harness is for. The clips themselves are different. Unless for some reason they used an obd1 harness and the ECU you have now is obd2. But that is VERY unlikely.

soo all the loose wires should be there for the o2 sensor, knock sensor, and ckf sensor should all be there? so i don't need to get different injectors and alternator.. etc ?

You need an OBD2a wiring harness and the p72 ECU (according to others, I'm not sure about the correct ECU for your motor). You will also need to add some sensors that don't exist on the OBD1 systems.
