dont need to remove the drum cover, just the cable get under the car and unbolt the 2 brackets from the chasis and fish it out
but easiest way to remove the drum cover is to remove the screws, then spin and hit the drum cover until most of the dust is out and the bead is broken looe and itll slide off, dont be afraid to really beat that thing

I've read that over time the rear brake shoes cut into the drum enough and leave a ridge for the drum to catch the shoe when trying to pull it off. So you have to go through the rear and pull the shoes in the with the star adjuster. When that's done, thread two bolts into the face of the drum to push it off.
Again, haven't done it...this isn't experience talking.

Re: (EE_Chris)
My drums were also stuck when I installed new shoes, threading 2 12mm (I think) bolts in to push the drum off works. Just keep tightening them until the drum pushes off of the shoes. If they're REALLY stuck, then using the adjuster to pull the shoes in (like chris said) should work.

haha this happened to me at at the dealership once, either someone over adusted the brakes or it just got rusty, try some brake cleaner it still might be the seal also what helps from my experence is actually spinning it and hitting it in 4 diff spots and eventually it comes loose lol,
but if your jus doing the disc swap unbolt the entire rear trailing arm and just leave the parking brake cable attached to the drum brakes you cant use them anyways and it just makes it easier

For not having experience you have nailed it on the head. tis is exactly what needs to be done

Well...in that same thread, the reason it was discussed was because the o.p. found out the hard way what happens when you don't pull the shoes back in. So I've got that mental image sort of burned in now.

this is funny cause i couldnt get the drum cover off either and was pounding on it for the longest time but its rather simple. There are 2 threaded bolt holes that just seems to be there for no reason lol, but find a bolt that goes in well and bolt it in one at a time and it'll push the cover right off. waala that was easy!

a wrolds diffrence lol
si = a 40/40 for rear disc brakes and ex's idk what they are but they dont feel good when you use the brakes, wiered pedal feel, best thing is tho is that the 40/40 could be found on integras or si civics and bolt right in place i heard a 91 ex sedan master cylinder was also a bolt on upgrade havent done it yet but ima check it out
