Default Removed PCV, endyn setup, HORRIBLE mpg!

Built a catch can, put a breather filter on the valve cover, routed a hose from black box to open catch can.

Now ive put 3 gallons in the gas tank each time (about 5 times) It gives me around 60 miles before I need to fill up again -20mpg. Is this directly related to the PCV system being bypassed? anybody else have the same issue?

Everything has been tuned up, I do this every month.

theres nothing wrong with running a catch can setup if it is ran right. many many many people have done this. because of the stock honda pcv system being weak ppl run a catch can setup getting the crankcase pressure closer to zero in turn making extra power(its minimal). but yes you can run a catch can.

you will have to search to find the best way of running the catch can though

It is good enough to prevent all the seals in the block from leaking, therefor it is the right size, if your that worried about it, get a bigger PCV valve.

Autozone has like a million PCV valves of all shapes and sizes...

how would you get a bigger pcv valve? they're calibrated for the idle. if you know about a bigger pcv valve that will work, LMK

Ask yourself this? What is the function of the IACV?

It is to maintain the correct idle for every Honda car that uses it. Most certainly a Civic in Denver would have an IACV more open than a car at sea level since air is dense at sea level, same example applies to a bigger PCV, the IACV will simply close more to maintain the correct idle speed.

but I get a roaming idle when the PCV is removed and replaced with a hollow one....is it out of range?

If you hollow out the valve, now all you have is a vacuum leak, the valve needs to be in there to control the leak, thats why some people refer to it as a controlled vacuum leak.
Getting a bigger valve, like one from a 2L or 2.4L engine would allow more air to pass, and then the IACV will self correct based on that.

you do relize at idle the PCV is closed, and only opens at partial throttle
