rear main seal installation? anybody personally do this?
The car is out of the body shop, going into my garage, gonna be working on my B16A to do some TLC to it before dropping her in. Next week I am gonna install my rear main seal, timing cover seal, cam seals, water pump and timing belt and new oil pan and oil pan seal. Any suggestions on properly doing the rear main seal? gotta find some information on the proper steps on doing the rear main seals other than like maybe the Haynes manual will say. Any hints or tips for the cam seals? Just for a FYI sorta thing, don't think I will have any problems, just curious if anybody had any tips.
Oh, I searched to no avail!
Thanks all.

the seals are easy as pie, use a rubber mallet to tap in the rear main seal. All the others should go right in.

If I remember right, the rear main is on the tranny side of the crankshaft. You will have to drop the tranny and pull out the old seal. Then tap the new one in. Its pretty easy, just go around it a little at a time

just take the rear cover off and pop the old seal out.
Then pop the new one in.
Also, there is going to be a bead of grease on the inside of the new seal where the round spring is. Just smear that around with your finger to get the seal lubed up real good so that it easily slides down the crank. Its not a bad idea to put some grease on the crank as well.
Then of course, dont forget the honda bond on the matin surfaces of the end plate where it meets the block.

Its much easier to do with the plate off. But it is entirely possible to do with the plate on.
