quiet exhaust...?
ok so im gonna get this 93 civic HB dont know if its an Si but doesnt matter too much. anywyas i wanna find an exhaust that is quiet untill it breaks 3000rpm and then has a nice sound. this is strictly becuase i dont want an annoying ehaust that A: makes cops tunr their heads and B: cant have a sleeper if it wakes everyone up. so any suggestions would be great or possibly ways to modify a stock exhaust? i live in canada and dont wanna spend more then 200 bucks.

200 bucks wont get you much........unless you can find a shop that will do the piping for you REALLY cheap.... because a pre-fabbed system from any major company or minor for that fact.. will cost you over 200$ canadian..

go to a muffler shop.
2.5" piping, longest resonator you can find( most likely 22"), magnaflow straight through oval muffler w/ no tip.
looks and sounds stock until you really get on it.

Re: quiet exhaust...? (whitepoweredlsvtec)
well id want to do just the muffler, i wouldnt get into the full header to tip just yet. hell in a few years if i do get into tool/die or a machinist i wouldnt mind attempting to bend up headers plus a full exhaust unit. so waht muffler would sound low and then wake up when you jump on the throttle? whats the exact name of that magnaflow exhaust? tha civic already has an exhaust, but ive only talked about it with the guy, he seems reluctnat to let me check it out.

Re: quiet exhaust...? (dossantos25)
IMO go w/ the 2.5 in custom job. I paid 250 for my catback and not 600-800 for an aftermarket part. My theory is why pay that much money for something that might give you 5 hp? But, on the other hand companys like HKS, etc., have done their research and dyno'd every type of bend at every angle possible. If you wanna squeeze as much possible out of everything buy aftermarket. Just remember that after you spend 800 for your cat-back and 300 for your intake that I spent 250 for cat-back and 60 for intake and just bought my turbo. Think about it.
P.S. Mine sounds as quiet as stock until about 2 grand and it's still not that loud. When you get on it you will hear it but, it's not like some of the shitty exhausts I've heard.
