Default Quick Question about tach install on '93 civic

Does anybody have the correct wires to splice into?
and what harness should i be splicing into? there are two ... one that is kinda diagonal on the right side (behind gas guage) and one that verticle on the other side.

thanx

Just my suggestion. Don't splice into those wires!!!!!! On the drivers side near the firewall, almost all the way to the fender there is a wire made just for using a tach. Look in a manual to explain it more clearly, but it's just the one wire. I would show you a picture, but i don't have a digital camera anymore.

btw, if you drill holes in your dash for a stupid tach, I'll kill you.

On my 94 EX, it's blue. It's attached to the three plugs on the drivers side. You'll be able to tell that it is the right wire as soon as you see it.

thanx for the help.

I've located a single blue wire that just ends at those harness's. I tapped into it, and it worked fine until i put everything back together. Now there is no rpm reading, but if i just touch the blue wire, the tach jumps like 500 and then goes back down.

any ideas?

go to Autometer.com and you can get the complete wiring for the tach and your car.

On my 93 cx, it's a blue wire with a grey stripe on the driver side firewall.
