Default quick question

how do you kill the beeping noise that is made when your door is open and the key is in the ignition on a 2000 honda civic?

Well you should keep it in there because that will let you know if your keys are still in the ignition.....don't want to lock your keys in your car

I wann kill it cuz mine is backwards! whenever my keys ARENT in the ignition it beeps and when they are in it doesnt. I just bought the car and that how it was.

I belive there is a fuse under the dash for it.. not sure what fuse it is

or you can clip the wire to the door, never done it before, should work, or take the switch out and tape it closed, or wire a switch to it and keep it closed. I have not done any of this so use these ideas at your own risk

hey thanks for the ideas medside but I also have keyless entry alarm system and Im pretty sure that screwing with the door switch would screw that up. I got a wiring diagram and Im pretty sure theres a relay for that beeping noise but I dont know wat its called. if anyone knows wat that beeping noise is called or knows how to kill it. HELP ME OUT! I CANT STAND THIS DAMN BEEPING!

blue/white 18 ga wire. Pop open your steering column cover and it's close to the ignition wires.

test though. when you stick the key in it should go to GROUND. that is the wire and just cut it.

hope my explanation was pretty easy to understand. i don't make sense sometimes.
