Default Question about SiR II and ITR LCA's

ok, i happened to come across a set of rear disk brakes from a jdm sir II. i haven't had a chance to really look at them yet but i believe it comes with the rear lca's. i've been told they are similar to the itr lca's. my question is this, can i use the 92-95 civic shocks with this setup or do i have to opt for some itr rear shocks? also, which brake lines will i need for the changeover? if there's anything else i am forgetting or should know about, please inform me. thanks.

If they do infact match ITR lca's you will need to either use ITR rear struts, use JDM/JDM aftermarket rear struts, or switch the lca's to USDM ones/use USDM rear struts.

you can still keep your civic lca's in the event the SiR II lca's do not work with your shocks.

the brakelines should come with the brake swap and the hardline is attached to the chassis. you can order stainless lines for the rear disc as well.

I bought a set and they needed the ITR shocks. I believe you can just swap out the hub assy. and bolt it to your civic lcas.

ok, i would prefer to use the civic ones so that i don't have to buy new shocks for the rear. by the way, the brake lines were cut when the car was cut in half before being shipped in the container. so, the usdm lca from a 92-95 civic will work on the jdm rear assembly? also, keep the civic bushings? and, which sway bar can i use?

Yes the USDM Civic lca's will work with the JDM rear hubs. It is a bolt in swap of lca's. The Civic bushings in the lca's will work fine with what you are putting together.

You would be able to run an aftermarket sway bar set-up like the Progress, Suspension Tech, or Eibach. The Civic lca's do not have endlink mounts for stock sway bars. These kits have brackets that mount the endlinks to the lca's.

If you want to run an OEM rear sway bar you will need to get lca's that allow endlink mounting. (1994-2001 Integra, 1994+ DelSol Vtec DOHC, etc) And replace the Civic lca's with one of them. I's also suggest a kit like Beaks or BSQ to properly mount the sway bar.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by vtecb20coupe &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">by the way, the brake lines were cut when the car was cut in half before being shipped in the container. </TD></TR></TABLE> perhaps you mean the parking brake cable was cut?

the brake lines (brake fluid lines) are short and run from the wheel well to the knuckle... you might be able to use your civic ones, not sure though.

the swaybars you can run would be everything from a LS rear, or GSR rear or bigger ITR rear or biggest jdm ITR rear or even an aftermarket rear with an incorporated tiebar
