Default purchasing a new motor.. help please

im looking at a d16z6 and what is a good list of questions that i should ask the seller to make sure everything is in great condition? any help is appreciated and thanks in advanced

mileage...how often the oil was changed...conditition of the tranny...any grinds...was the motor ever turbocharged, supercharged, juiced, etc...what parts have been replaced if any...if so when and what...

questions such as those...those are just some of the many questions I asked when I bought my z6

In addition to the above poster, ask the guy if it's a complete swap with transaxle, axles, wiring harness, PCM, motor mounts, and shift linkage.

try to get a complete swap if possible, as much extra crap as you can, it'll save you time trying to get things to fit, and ask if he did a compression test.

what if its jdm d series will it still be bolt on into a usdm dx civic and i wont have to buy any specific parts to get the motor running?

I hope you are getting a smoking hot deal for this motor, becuase you are probably paying too much because it's "JDM". out of curiosity why are you going d. and how much are you getting the motor for? I mean the z6 is one of the few decent d-series motors but it seems that jdm motors go for more, and you could stretch your dollar alot further by buying a usdm motor
