Idle Problem ( no cold start )
hi,
My car is a Ej1 with a B16A2 with some mods and a P30 Jdm spoon. Before my ecu cell 3 and i change my map with a other used one. My car still have the same problem, when i start the car can't stay at 850, it goes slowly under 500rpm and it stalle. Also it consumme many gas but only at the idle. The engine can't stay at idle more than 1 minute..
So when i unplug the D17 wire on the ecu ( Ground map sensor ) my idle is perfect, no jump, no gas smell or sonething else, but when i plug the wire again is the same **** like before, strong smell of gas and stalle everytime. My sensor is on the firewall is a PS-22. I know there exist other map sensor for but i dont know if the characteristic changes..
So why when i unplug the map my car run good and when i plug it again my engine can't stabilize and stalle..
Thanks for your help

Re: Problems with a Map sensor (Special B)
you might try using a throttle body that has the MAP sensor mounted directly on it. I had a similar problem with my 92 civic. originally it had a MAP sensor mounted on the firewall. After the swap, it ran as you described, also very rich. There was no check engine light. but when I unplugged the MAP it idled great! So after switching the throttle body to a different one with the MAP sensor mounted on top, it ran good all the time. I also had to adjust the idle by turning the screw out on the throttle body

Re: Problems with a Map sensor (teal_dx)
so, i try a map sensor mounted on the throttle body (ps-30) but i keep my throttle i just take the map sensor relied with a hose to my throttle. The engine does the same problem like before, up and down and stalle....i'm really disapointed, i don't know where i must find now..

i have change, the throttle body, map sensor, eacv, fitv, pcv valve, fuel filter, checked all hose, no leak, checked injectors they are good too, rotor and cap rotor changed too and the problem still here... So the only i don't have change is the fpr and the iat. I think it can be the iat because when i start the car i never have the cold start, the idle go to 850 rpm make up and down and it go slowly around 400rpm and after it stalle...The engine do this cold and hot too. At the idle my engine run very very rich, and my sparkplug are everytime black and wet of gas. They can be symptoms of iat ?
