Default Power Window/Lock Conversion Question

I've tried searching but couldn't find much help out of that. I just had a few questions about converting my manual windows to power windows. My car is a '96 CX which I bought used and at the moment it has power locks, but I'm not sure if it makes it any easier or harder for me. So I found someone with some power door panels off of a '00 Si. They have everything from the door panels and regulators, switches, relay, and floor harness. All the mechanical stuff I can deal with such as installing the regulators and switches. But since my car is a '96 will I have to replace my floor harness with the Si harness? After that what else specifically will I have to switch? Pins in the harness plugs?

you wont want a harness from an si since they didnt make an si in the 96-98 range. get an ex floor harness or wire directly to the fusebox with fuse taps.

So then all I need is the Si door harnesses for the driver and passenger side and an EX floor harness and its plug and play? No plug swapping? I can get an EX harness at the junk yard. And the door panels come with the Si door harnesses to plug into the switches and regulators.

you shouldnt be using any of the si components at all since there are some pretty hefty differences between the wiring between 98 and 99. I would stick with 96-98 EX wiring for doors and floor if you want to make it as easy as possible to install.

Thanks for the help. Ok so I really can't use anything in terms of harnesses from the Si. So in order to make it as plug and play as possible I would need EX door harnesses and the EX floor harness. So with that the EX plugs will plug into the Si power window and lock components and still plug into my Fuse Box right?

Is there a way to re-wire the Si harnesses to work with my '96 CX? Like changing over the plugs? I do have the patience to sit and re-solder the plugs if it will save me the trouble of trying to locate EX harnesses. I've been trying to locate a 96-98 EX engine harness for over 3 months now without luck. But if I can find EX harnesses and its just plug and play I'll just go with that.

yeah you can pin the old 96 clip to it. i dont have specifics on the exact pins that need to be moved/added but it can be done.

Hey monicle I have another question for yah if you can answer it. So I got all my parts for for the swap minus EX harnesses. But I'm also missing the blue lock control box. I need that for power locks right? Will the blue box from a 00 Si hook up to the 96-98 EX harnesses? And what other misc. parts do I need to swap over to power side mirror? I found the mirrors, switch and relay if that all I need. Do you have any pics of what the entire power converion looks like installed on the door with out the door panel on yet? I'm trying to figure where everything hooks up and bolts on. thanks a bunch.

the 99-00 dont have the blue box so no you will have to get one from a 96-98
for usdm power mirrors all you will need are the mirrors and the switch. no power mirrors use a rely aside from the jdm power folding mirrors. unless thats what youre talking about

for the doors you can look at these.

Monicle, I was trying yo IM you. I don't know if you got it or not. But what I was asking you was if you knew wheter or not I could just go ahead and use the passenger side Si harness for the door and run a 96-98 EX floor harness and EX driver door harness. I thought I read you post somewhere this was possible, maybe I'm wrong.

yeah im seemed to be having trouble earlier. the passenger door harness is identical for all power optioned ek civic coupes/hatchs, so yeah you can use the 99/00 harness on the 96-98 floor harness
