A power steering line from a GSR will work.

I disagree because I believe the GSR line will not fit the civic rack.

I'm guessing the "nipple" from the civic's line is smaller than the hole that accepts it in the GSR PS pump, right? You'll need to get a 93 or older B-series PS pump from the junk yard. It has a smaller hole to accept the civic's line.

I got a power steering line from a JDM DC teg when my line broke, and it fit the pump on my B16, and the rack in my hatch with no mods.

Well the power steering hose on the car now the end that bolts to the pump is too big to fit into the hole on the top of the jdm b18c1 pump...so i really needs to be smaller..

Back from the way dead.

Doing an obd1 jdm b18c gsr swap into a 99 civic dx. What ps pump hose do we need to make this work? The hose that came with the swap is cut and the fitting on the stock dx hose to the pump is too large to fit into the gsr pump.

Thanks

dont do that , youl ruin your rack. either mount the D pump in the B brackets , if that wont fit since ive never tried that one personally. or , cut your original power steering line on a straight part of the line , and on the steel line , do the same with a B series PS line , cutting it in the same spot , and also on a straight piece. join the 2 together with a compression fitting , and pow there ya go. power steering line. compression fitting wont leak. just dont hurt it when tightening them up. if you opt to try and get a D series pump to mount in the brackets , the pullys might not line up correctly , if this is the case , use washers to line the pullys up so you wont wear through belts. besides where the lines going into the pumps being different , the way the pump mounts in the car is near the same in civics and tegs.

I searched the crap out of this topic...and nowhere did I find that I could use an EM1 pump. I figured the d-series pump was different from all b-series pumps, (the high pressure hose fitting on the end that connects to the pump).

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by cranny &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Either mount the D pump in the B brackets , if that wont fit since ive never tried that one personally. or , cut your original power steering line on a straight part of the line , and on the steel line , do the same with a B series PS line , cutting it in the same spot , and also on a straight piece. join the 2 together with a compression fitting , and pow there ya go. power steering line. compression fitting wont leak. just dont hurt it when tightening them up. .</TD></TR></TABLE>

We looked at that option...but the d-series pump would not mount correctly with the b-series motor. Have you ever tried the high compression fitting/splicing the two lines? That sounds like an easy/cheaper fix.

Try searching "in thread bodies" not just titles

I need to make a thread about this for the FAQ...

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind when I do my swap. Now I know.
