power steering to manaul civic cx swap, WHAT BUSHING!!!
my power steering rack, the body is a lot thicker than the manual rack, and for the bushing that bolts to the frame on the passenger side, its just a band of rubber that goes around the rack and then bolts on to the subframe.
but for the cx one, there is already a bushing in there... and is flat against the subframe, but the subframe is round in the area where u're suppose to have the bushing mounted to it. Also the mount that bolts onto from the power steering rack is too big for it. WHAT DO I DO??!!?? thanks

Ive swapped the racks before but not on a cx. some pictures might help me to understand exactly what your problem is. In this picture you can see the band youre talking about on both the power and manual racks. they are exaclty the same size so I dont quite understand where youre having the problem.

look at this diagram.
http://www.hondaautomotivepart...R+BOX
notice how the bushing is flat against the subframe... and the diameter of the rack is thin compared to the power steering rack. Here is a diagram for a power steering rack.

The bushing mount is bigger.. and the bushing is different also. for this bushing, it is like a rubber band.. and the part on the subframe that it bolts on to accepts the bushing as a round bushing as oppose to a flat one like the CX. WHAT DO I do?? thanks
ANYBODY know the diameter of the manaual steering rack?

what i did when i got the manual rack, was put in a energy suspension bushing on the outside of the bushing that was already there, i just rounded it up so the new (red color in the picture) would fit nice and snuggly around the one already in place.
hope this helps

looks good to me. I bet it will hold like a champ. how tightly did it clamp down? I wouldnt worry too much about it.

well, i rounded the flat spot with a blade so there isn't any play in the rack. it fits snugs as hell espescially with that energy suspension bushing, but that isn't why i could have used a stock one and no one would have know the difference

i can't notice a difference in the steering wheel, being that the gearing ratio's are different. the only thing i notice is that its not power steering
