Please help me with this weird idle problem.
Hi all, I'm a long time lurker first time poster. I am only bothering you guys because I cannot figure out the problem anymore with my current knowledge of my car and I need you guys' expert help. Thank you in advance and here is my problem.
I have a 95 Civic DX with D16Y8. I didn't do the swap, the previous owner did. I found out not long ago that it is running on Y7 mani and tb. I was having very low idle problem before but I fixed it by drilling two holes for IACV in the back of the mani. Ever since then, my car is running fine and idling at spec.
But there is another problem I am still experiencing. While idling, especially at cold start, my idle drops to almost dead then come back up. It repeats. This goes away after I drive around. This also doesn't happen when I have A/C on. I have cleaned the IACV as it was new since it has not been using from the beginning without holes until now and I have also cleaned the FITV under the tb. I replaced the tb gasket and checked for vaccum leak. There was no leak at all as engine stall when I close the tb with my hand. I've also tested voltage and resistance of the IACV and they are as described in Haynes Repair Manual. I have replaced the distributor cap and rotor and checked and adjusted the timing to original position too.
http://youtu.be/yVt5P6wR8hQHere's the video I took this morning with the cold start. Today is a bit cold temperature so it took a while for the problem to show up but you can skip ahead to 02:38. But you can see that the idle is not stable throughout the entire video but not very noticeable.
Please help me figure out my problem guys.

Hi. Thank you for the reply. I think I got confused with the mani and tb. Since I have Y7 mani, I thought tb is also Y7. Turns out, it's a GSR tb. It looks exactly like this.
Could it be the problem?

Re: Please help me with this weird idle problem.
Ok. I guess I have to thank you for this. My car is fixed due to you pointing out that I don't have Y7 TB. I thought it was Y7 TB and put the Y7 TB gasket on. The old one had leak and when I took it out, it was falling to pieces that I threw it away without checking if I got the same gasket. Now that I put on GSR TB gasket, it's fixed. Everything is running smooth now.
Thank you.
Thank you.
