People who have 96+ civic ex coupes i KNOW you have this problem too!
I know a few people who have 1996+ honda civic ex coupes with power windows and they ALWAYS eventually go off tract so the window gets all f---ed up cuz it goes pretty much everywhere. I just bought another 96+ civic after wrecking mine and i'm having the SAME exact problem with this car too! anyone else have this issue? i know you do or know someone who does.. it seems like its a factory defect but no recalls have been made.. what have you done to fix this problem? if i roll. my window down more than halfway it keeps going off tract so i can't roll it back up without having to disassmeble the whole door! lmk.

Been there done that. Use to have a 97 ex same thing!!! Sux! I went to the factory and got a new ( i forget the name of it) the that touches the window, it shaped like an "X", the regulator or something! Fixed it, never had a problem agian. Before that it fell off the window like 20 times. It would always pitch forward or something. It was like 40-50 dollars i think.
Worth it!
Good Luck!

Keep the window track lubed with silcone spray and you should never have a problem. You notice that they roll slower when there is alot of mostiure in the air???

No, that didn't work for mine. Creator read my post! Solved
If your track was bent, then yes you will need one. The track gets bent because it is not lubed up and the window is forcing itself down the track and bends it. I just bent mine back by hand and always use the silicone spray and never had a problem since. Note: Your problem may have been different.

Not starting fight. I tired what you said and did not have luck. I went up and down about four times then slipped off again.
If that worked for you that is cool
and you saved fifty bucks.

gf 99 ex had the same problem, window got stuck or going really slow, went to honda under warranty and replaced the regulator. No problem as of now.
my del sol, both of my windows does something sort of like choking up and down type, one side i added some pink grase(sp?) or something that fixed it, the other side, no time to do anything to it yet.

same prob here, my drivers window use to go off track when rolled all the way down. i put a few washers on the bottom bolt and it solved it, i didnt know about the other part you can replace, i might look into it.

mine does it everyday, I don't even roll down my driver side window anymore cause when i do, it tips forward and falls off track, so i'm guessing this X thing is the regulator? I should go in to get it fixed under warranty but i've voided every warranty my car has. So 50 bux and this is fixed? I should look into this, later.

theres a service bulletin on this, you have to replace the window regulator. I have done it on both of my doors. I reccomend getting a Helms Manual to guide the process. Takes about 30-45 minutes per door. I have done both of mine. They cost about 23.35 plus tax.

I took off my door panel, and the front track was loose, so I tightened it and re-adjusted it and it's been fine for six months
