p28 computer with b16a2
hey i just got a jdm b16a2 auto and i put it in my 93 del sol. it ran ok but there was a sound like nut hanging around in the engine so i put the stock p28 computer in and the noise went away. the computer i had was a p72 will my p28 computer work and have no problems like running lean or anything? i figured the vtech was always on with the p72 computer and there wasnt enough oil pressure to engage the vtech all the way does that sound like that could have made that noise?
thanx

Vtec cannot partially engage. Its either on or off.
I have no idea on the sound. Its alittle hard to diagnose a sound over the internet.
But I will tell you that if you want the best performance out of your b16, have your p28 rechipped.
Get in touch with Kenji on this board, he can chip your ecu.

kenji211@tampabay.rr.com - that's Kenji's e-mail addy.
He 'll reprogram that P28 to run your B16A much better than the stock P28, and even better than the stock B16A P30 ECU.
A stock P28 will run a B16a without incident, but it also doesn't have ideal fuel and timing curves, and the rev limit is **** too.
I run both my B16A2 and B18C5 off of re-chipped P28 ECUs and neither has given me problem in the 4+ years I've had the B16A and the 3 years I've had the B18C5.
