overheating, tried the basics...
Hey peeps, i got a 94 ex auto coupe with 120k miles on it. it started to overheat the other day so i changed the thermostat and replaced the radiator cap. still overheating. the fan comes on WAY too late to i was thinking maybe its the sensor on the thermostat itself. the radiator has been replaced with an aftermarket one, it had a 13 lb cap on it but i replaced it with a 16 lb one so it would be like stock. could that be it?? i think its the sensor, anyone ever replaced it and that was it?? any input is greatly appreciated, thanks and keep it safe.

How badly has it overheated? you may have already damaged your head. Try taking the rad cap off (when the car is cold of course), unplugging the dizzy harnesses, and having someone crank the engine. Watch the coolant in the radiator to see if it bubbles while it cranks. I did this when I had repaired everything and it had still been overheating, and the coolant bubbled. It turned out my head gasket was blown and my head was warped, otherwise just chec the basic stuff before you go ahead and tear your engine apart.
