overheating and surging idle problem
Ok here is my problem, a few days ago I noticed when I would start my car the idle would bounce from 1800-1200 it would do this until I drove it for a few minutes and let the engine warm up. Tonight I was driving home from work and the engine was warmed up and I turned the heater on and it was ice cold it let it blow for about a minute and it finally turned hot. Later on I stoped by to see a friend and left my car running when I came back out my temp gauge was all the way up. If i reved the engine it cooled down, if I went down teh road and let it idle it would stay hot. I'm thinking I have air in teh coolant. becasue earlier inteh week I acc. poped the coolant hose to the intake manifold off. Does this sound right? I'm not for sure how to bleed the coolant, i see a bleeder screw on the water neck by the radiator. but Idont know if i just crack it loose until i get osme fluid or what---if this is even my problem.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
the engine is a d16z6 and i have no CEL
thanks again

Re: overheating and surging idle problem (92lxsedan)
Surging problem: check both your IACV & FITV. IAC is behind the TB while the FITV is right underneath held on by 3 10'mm bolts. Also check your distributor.
Overheating: Might want to check your thermostat but bleed air out of your coolant by opening the radiator cap or thru the bleeding screw. (open when its not hot).
good luck.

Re: overheating and surging idle problem (92lxsedan)
mine did the same thing. i had to bleed the coolant system and it was fine after that. all i did was jack the car up with the front and ran it with the radiator cap open.(i dont have a bleeder screw) ahh i think you just loosen it until a steady stream comes out.
