overheating on hills.... blown head gasket? help needed!
hey guys, long time no post but college has kept my money to a minimum. recently on the long drives home from school, my civic has been over heating while pulling up hills in 4th or 5th gear. this time home it was too much and had to leave the car home (it sucked to have my car break down on my birthday ) my dad took it to the local shop yesterday and they said it was a blown head gasket. its a 92 DX with a d16y8 with around 65k miles on engine, chassis has 170k+. radiator is original. there was no visible smoke and doesnt substantially over heat during regular driving. it had up to this point been an on and off thing. i think its could be a bad radiator or water pump or thermostat. not really sure though. any advice and insight would be greatly appreciated. i always turn to honda-tech when in trouble.
thanks a lot,
Jeremy
