OVERHEATED for 30-40 seconds ?? BLOWN ENGINE? RINGS ?? HELP
ok i have had problems with my cooling system,
and im drivbing and all the sudden my heat goes from low to about 80% to the top, stays for 20 seconds and goes back to normal, then stays at half for 20 seconds and goes back,
it did the ohhh 4-5 times, ?? car feels same, but kind off bogs out at 2.5-3 then up its fine, ??
can there be any damage ?? theres no smoke from exhaust and everything is quiet.

how many miles are on the car? after you've done both of the above suggested, and if problem doesn't go away, you may want to flush and change your coolant, might have something stuck somewhere. After that, if you still have problems, your water pump is dieing, which honestly would be my first guess. Bleeding your coolant is easy, fill up the radiator, get it up to running temperature, and loosen the bleeder until bubble or air stop coming out.

Pray it's not your waterpump, mine went out and I'm on Day 3 of breaking the crank pulley bolt loose

Electric cheapo will definitely not work. I'm strong enough to spin it even with someone stomping on the brakes. I need something to hold the pulley while doing it. Oh well, the tool I ordered to remove it should be here by Friday

well yeah, they are rated at like 240, but are actually more like 120-140. Anyways, point being, the action of an impact gun does wonders for bolts on a spinning platform. But yeah, strapping down the crank pulley seems to be the way that most do it.

replace Thermostat
replace Coolant
Compression Test
Leak Down Test
Make sure oil doesn't look milk shakey(tan/Frothy)- if so head gasket replacement time and take head to machine shop to make sure it is not warped.
You can check block with straight edge when head is removed.
Here is a great how to! http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto.php
