coolant system issue
Finally got my car back and running after a no crank no start issue, and came across a cooling system issue, replaced my coolant temp switch at the thermostat, thermostat, cooling relay, coolant flush, and my temp needle seems to rise a little over the normal reading,I also bleed the system until the fan turned on,what can be the problem? Can it be a clogged radiator,I also noticed that my reservoir is getting over filled by a little bit, even though I top it off at the max line.

Re: coolant system issue
Park on an incline or jack up the front when you bleed it again.
The slider thing needs to be all the way over to the heat side but the fan doesn't need to be on.

Re: coolant system issue
does it go up when driving and then go down???? i had the same issue spent alot of money replacing everything, ended up being a water pump fan that fails at higher rpms that caused it not to spin as fast and then at idle it would spin
Also got a 170temp Thermostat
Ithink OEM water pumps from the dealership have a lifetime warranty, thats what I got to replace mine.

Re: coolant system issue
My civic is a 99 dx with a D16y7 engine, when I'm driving on the freeway the temp needle would rise a little than drop down back to normal, bleed the system and still the same symptoms,I even used a radiator fluid exchange machine which uses a pressure system that removes any air in the system and still the same symptom,I'm lost what else could it be???

Re: coolant system issue
did you ever say if your fans kicked on? I know this might sound crazy but is there anything in front of your fan? debris like paper or leaves or anything like that?
