Default Overextended CV axle boot?

My brother got some rebuilt axles for his 93 del Sol Si from Advance Auto Parts. I'm not sure what brand they are buy they looked to be pretty good quality. The long driver side axle even had the balancer/dampener just like stock.

But anyway we put the axles in, and the passenger side inner boot looks like it's a bit overextended, like whoever assembled the axles tightened the boot clamp too far in on the axle shaft. It seems to have gone together okay, and we have driven the car around some and it seems fine, but the way that inner boot looks just worries me, even though I know the axle will never be as long on the ground as it is when the car is up in the air with the suspension drooping down. What do you all think, is it a big deal?

The only problem with having the boot stretched too far like that, is the possiblity of premature boot wear.

Other than that, it shouldnt effect the integrity of the axle.

Would it be possible for me to just cut the small clamp off of the inner boot, the one that's around the axle shaft, slide the boot in a bit and then put a new boot clamp around it? Or would the grease inside come out all over the place?

You could do it to either side, without the grease coming out.
Just do it carefully.
