ihave an aftermarket radiator of some kind, i think its the start of an intercooling system, when it was cooler outside, no problems, now its a little warmer and when im not moving(at a stop light, in drive thru, etc.) the car begins to over heat, im thinkink this is due to the fact that i have no fan, i just need somebody to either confirm this or tell me the real problem before i go and spend my money

Are you SERIOUS?! No fan? Fail right there. Get a fan before you burn up your car.
Radiators and intercoolers are two different things.

no fan? YES that will definatly cause it! bever vert careful with the temps. These motors with warp heads and/or block with even one over heat. untill you get a fan. turn the car off if you need to idle for more than a min.

this is an after market part how do i find the right size fan before i go and get one and put some type of getto mountin brackets on the car

innercoolers are only for turbos. no turbo? no intercooler

For one get a manual for your car. At the very least a Chiltons or a Haynes. A helms would be much better. Don't drive that car again until you get a proper fan on it and the cooling system is working properly.

is there a name on the radiator? actually, alot of the aftermarket ones take the stock fan if im not mistaken.

im just gonna get the fan for the car and make some aluminum brackets to make it fit, there are for different spots that have threads on the radiator that i am assuming are for the fan, correct?

like i said most if not all take the OEM fan mounts... cant speak of the quality personally, but theres a link to a site that sells a slim fan with shroud in grumblemarcs signuture

you can always just get a slim fan for it. It mounts thru the core very easily with 4 plastic sinch ties.... or whatever the hell they are called....

You need a fan for sure, I have the same problem but only when I'm accelerating up a hill..however I have a fan any idea's?

the fan itself is plasitc i cant just mount that to the radiator, i would need a shroud the prob. is this my everday driver and i cant wait for 2 weeks to get the part in the mail, soooooooooooo?

thats true but last time i was there, they only had like 2 civics and, and i just dont feal like waistin the time

i would start with the simple things when it comes to overheating some mechanic will just want to change your water pump start with radiator cap that can be a problem then work with the fan make sure it turns on after that if it keeps overheating might be something bigger

went to the junkyard found a civic with the dual fans but they are individual shounld one these fit in to me radaitor

i am not sure if they are interchangeable. but one fan is on the radiator, the other in on an A/C radiator. The one you want is on the passenger side.

get a slim fan, ebay, autozone might have them. install it in front of the radiator and wire it to stock harness to pull air out, i did this on my eg turbo setup cause i didnt have room for stock fan, worked fine, no overheating. i used zip ties to hold it in place.

slim fans are expensive, and it doesnt overheat unless its already to temp. and i stop for about 10 min. or more, i just dont feel like spendin money on somethin that i dont really need that bad

So I decided to get back into the scene and bought a 95 civic with a jdm d16a vtec. the issue im having is dead on to a blown or gonna blow head gasket. although i don't have water in my oil as far as i know i still think that its a head gasket problem. it does over heat with running it more than 30 min. also the coolant will get blistering hot and steams back into the reservoir cause the resevoir to boil along with evaporating all the coolant and water. recently noticed that the radiator fan wouldn't kick on so i ended up hot wiring it to a switch. helps a little but not much in mid to high acceleration, im looking at to replace the head gasket but just wanted to see if anyone else might have some input as to something else it might be. also its come to my attention that my vtec wont kick in at all. other than it not kicking in whats another way to check if its bad? thanx in advance
