yes there both about as simple as a b18c, except you sorta have to piece together the B20 (tranny, ECU, intake + exhaust manifolds from a teg).

1/4 depends on what tranny you run, b20Z w/gsr tranny will around 14.5(roughly), not sure about LS though.

W/ an LS swap, there is no wiring to do.

Yes, I think high 14's are possible in a cx, depending on your elevation.

johnnyc - what happened to getting the GS-R swap? Didn't you return one before?

The wiring is super-easy man, so I hope that's not the main deterrant.

If it's price then I won't argue. LS/B20 still has potential, so good luck in what ever you choose.

I will say this though:

If you know in the back of your mind that you don't want to seriously build a motor soon then you may not want the LS or B20 swap. If you can't see yourself dumping more cash soon enough to build it for VTEC or boost, then you will suffer in the meantime compared to the B18C1 swap.

I am NOT talking **** on non-VTECs guys, but I'm just saying that the baseline power is different as you all know, and that for not a ton more money you could have a bit more power from a stock B18C1.

Good luck any way you choose

hey man
well ya that horror story abotu getting the engine and no clutch, wrong tranny and a mess of a motor. i did return it and i was really frustrated for the last couple months i basically gave up on the car and said **** it i will just drive it. But now im thinking i could get a USDM b18b and it still has 140 hp in my light little cx it should be pretty fast, and by next summer i will have enough money to turbocharge the thing and then it should be just as fast as any v-tech motor anyways rite

but you are saying that the cost is not much difference, maybe im under the wrong impression cant you get an LS engine for about 500 - 1000 dollars ?

the wireing is definetly not what is turning me off the GSR

Piecing together ANY swap sucks. Buying an LS or B20 block for $500 (never seen them that cheap either...) will turn into a more expensive affair I'm sure.

Buying a complete LS swap uaually costs around $2,200-$2,400 for a totally complete swap from a reputable yard such as Import Auto Salvage etc.

B18C1 swaps can be had for like $3,300-$3,600.

I agree that you should figure out exactly what you want and do it right the first time.

I purchased my '98 swap from http://www.marshallsimports.com
I got everything for $2000. The only other thing I bought was radiator hoses, throttle cable, and I traded my obd2 ecu for an obd1 ecu.
They call it a complete drop out. You get the entire front subframe(there's a brace on the integ subframe that will bolt onto your civic one ), suspension, and brakes, along w/ the motor assembly.
If you are serious about getting an LS swap, keep checking back w/ them, they update they're site quite often.

good luck w/ what ever you do.
