opinions on CRV VTEC
I need some opinions on a build up for a CRV VTEC...as far as what head to use, pistons, cams, tranny, bottom end build up, problems, advantages, etc...i want it to be reliable and of course...fast. I am planning on going all motor. Any opinions will be helpful.

Re: opinions on CRV VTEC (jdm ek)
Here is my plan. I already have a b16 in my car, and have a b20z on its way. I am planning on NA also. The CRVTEC is a beast. Over the winter I am getting forged rods and forged pistons...piston speeds in this motor at 8000 rpms are high, so I want something that is going to stay together. I am thinking a CR or 11:1. I would also really like to get some piston oil squirters installed to help ward off detonation, but I don't know if any machine shops in my area will know how to do this?!
Also, I am planning on a crank girdle, for added reliability.

A GSR, ITR, or Si tranny will work great. Then just slap a GSR, Si, or ITR head on that bad boy and should be plenty fast. Oh, oil lines will have to be ran for the VTEC.

Re: opinions on CRV VTEC (jdm ek)
Just bought my CRV about three weeks ago and the first think i did was order a new engine. We we offered a really good deal on a B16 civic engine which i found useful because all i really wanted was the head anyways...all i really wanted was the Vtec. but i found out that in order to put vtec on my crv i have to switch the head, intake manifold, cams, new headers and gaskets, and convert the block. i was told my ECU could support it, so not too worried about that. I think converting the block for the extra oil line is going to be a job, but everything else should work. and i hope that since i'm getting new headers that the pipes back will still work, but i was warned that they might not. but that's ok because i could use a new exhaust anyways. I'm just hoping that everything works out.
