Default Oil temp increasing!

So today I was in traffic, and I noticed that my oil temp was increasing and getting to hot, at one point it did hit the H. It would increase while idling or when I took my foot off the gas, but it would go back to normal when I started to accelerate. This is the first time it has happened and I thought it was gonna over heat on the highway...

I think it may be the hose to the radiator cause it was leaking onto the radiator. Also, could it be the radiator? Please help!

Its a stock 92 Hatch, manual tranny.

that is water temp not oil. i'd venture a guess and say there's air in the system. burp it see what happens.

Oh, yes the water temp. How do you "burp" it?

Also are you talking about the radiator fan?

Fix the coolant leak, top off radiator and reservoir with coolant, and bleed the cooling system.

- remove radiator cap
- turn heat on full blast
- start car and let reach operating temp
- let fan kick on at least twice
- watch for air bubbles coming out of radiator until they stop
- fill with coolant as necessary

that's how i do it with mine

Bleeding the cooling system may take 20-30 minutes.

1) Park the car on an inclined driveway with the front end higher than the rear.

2) Push the dash heater lever/**** to MAX heat.

3) Follow the directions in the diagram below (hint: the bleed bolt is located where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine):

Oh thanks, that really helps! When I turn the heat all the way up should I put the fan on 4 so it blows or leave it off?

The fan does not need to be on, but it also wouldn't hurt. All you want to accomplish is to open the heater valve on the firewall so that coolant flows through and thereby removes air from the heater core.

Why are you trying to flush it?
There's a drain at the bottom of the radiator.
What books are you looking at?
