Im curious if anyone has ever had this problem. I've had my car for 2 years, and i've been N/A and now boosted in my 00si. I do my own oil changes, just like everyone else. The question is sometimes when i take off the old oil filter, absoutley no oil will come out. And there is sometimes i take it off and oil is in it. The pass few times its been bone dry or very little oil in it. Today when i did the oil change nothing was in it. The car did sit for a one day though. Anyone have an answer for this?

do you run your car for a while, so the oil will loosen up?

i have had the same problem. what i have heard though is that there is an anti-siphonback (sp) valve in the filter that is supposed to keep the oil in the filter, instead of letting it run back into the engine. sometimes they fail, and the oil runs back in. i guess it just means when you start your car back up it will pump dry for a sec or two.
