oil pressure guage install
for those of you that have an oil pressure guage, did any of you just take off the oil pressure sensor and install the oil pressure guage? not using the oil pressure sensor anymore?
i don't have a T and i was thinking of just putting the oil pressure guage on and leaving the oil pressure sensor off the car. i thought if you have an oil pressure guage, you don't need the oil pressure sensor really.
any thoughts on this>?

I have read of peopel doing it with no problems...they just lose the dummy light which wouldnt matter if you had the gauge anyway. I have not personally tried it so I would take that with a grain of salt. Hell if I can find the T, I will send it to you for free.

I used the port next to the oil filter on my B16, it works fine and I didn't use a T.
The only problem is I can't use a regular size oil filter. I have to use a Fram, or a Honda mini.

well, i think i'm going to put it on and just take off the oil pressure sensor.
i always check my guages before i turn the car off anyway.. so i don't see a need for the oil pressure sensor on there if i have the oil pressure guage..

you can lose the stock senosor anyways. the idiot light only comes on at some ungodly pressure like 3psi anyways. you shouldnt really use a 't' anyways because of the whole harmonic vibration thingie. just do a search and you will find the right way to connect it up

yeah.. i read the vibration thingy. i think i'm just going to lose the oil pressure sensor. i'll keep it, but just not install it back on the block. i'll just install the fitting for the oil pressure guage and run the line to the guage.

I hope you mean an electric sending unit will be used. I wouldn't recommend running an oil line into the interior.

there is also a fitting you can buy (~$50) that screws on where the oil filter goes and you screw the oil filter into the fitting... it has a few holes for gauge sensors
