Default Oil Pan

My Oil Pan on my 93' Civic Coupe is rusting and about to fall apart.

How involved is changing the pan?

just alot of bolts and nuts on the bottom holding it on, quite easy. sometimes you have to take off the flywheel cover. make sure to use gasket sealant when putting it back on.

A bunch of 10mm bolts and a new gasket and you'll be set. Changing an oil pan is much like wiping your ***, but you don't have to deal with as much ****.

No, you don't have to remove your head in order to take off the oil pan. The head is located on the top of the block where as the oil pan is located on the bottom.

make sure that if you use something like rtv to seal it up that you clean all the old gasket off of the surface. you also have to make sure that the surfaces are compeltly clean of oil for the best seal. When i changed out my friends oil pain i used black rtv from like schucks or kragen or whatever. Ohh yeah most important make sure you empty out all the oil before starting or else......yeah well you can figure it out....

true, and i think you will need a torque wrench to tight down the bolts
don't over tight, it will leak

just do it by urself, if it leaks, do it again, it's easy
it just takes time

Like everyone said, VERY easy.

I work very slow and methodic when working on my car, and I changed out the gasket on mine in about an hour, including an oil change while I was at it.

You can do it!!

sorta kinda almost got that right... you may need to remove your HEADER.... not your head but your HEADER. The exhaust "pipes" that pass under the oilpan

Do I have to remove the header or just the pipes connecting to the header?

For lifting the car up what do you guys suggest?

Ramps?, jack stands, or a hydrolic jack.
