personally id use high mileage. iv put 5w 30 synthetic in a motor with 155,000 on it and the front main seal started leaking so i added a lil 10w and it slowed it down alot. if all ur rings and seals are good its fine to use synthetic is what i was always told.

As for Full Synthetic. Again, thats your call. The engines broke in so it won't matter either way. I change my oil every 3,000 miles to keep the oil clean so I don't pay for expensive synthetic.

Agree.
Look. Ultimately, you have just over 100k on a Honda that will easily go over 200k miles. Just pick one and stick to it.
I have 273k on my D15 and just run 5w-30.
A good oil filter is far more important than the type of oil in this situation.

Just buy an OEM oil filter and don't worry about any aftermarket stuff.

Re: oil change 2000 honda civic si
If your engine burns oil (as most older Honda's do) full synthetic will burn faster than conventional oil. Some people prefer 10w/40 conventional to slow down burn off. Products like Castrol GTX High Mileage oil is no different than any other oil other than it has an additive to swell rubber gaskets and help prevent/stop very small oil leaks.
This "which oil" topic really has been beat to death over the years and it's up to the individual to follow factory recommendations (5w/30) or not in this case.
