Default No O2 Sensor? Loss of power...

I have a 92 hatch with b18c swap. The tuning that the ecu is running allows for no O2 sensors. Is this a bad thing? I'm running an OBD1 gsr ecu with an OBD2 gsr engine. It has never been dyno tuned. 0-6000 rpms is great but it feels that above 6k I'm losing power. Also at about 7k the engine light comes on. Someone said that this could be a shift light programmed in. It's not unreasonable because it also has a fuel cut at 4k rpms when the car is sitting still. Would the ecu be able to compensate for the a/f ratio change inbetween engine specs if it had an O2 sensor? I'm kind of at a loss as to what I should do. Will it require a full tune?

Yes you definitely need a REAL tune using a dyno (or street tune if thats your only option) but you really need an air/fuel ratio gauge hooked up and the maps need to be set for your car. Any idea what system your car was tuned on? Is it CROME, NEPTUNE, HONDATA?

I personally always use the 02 sensors, they help by allowing the ecu to "adapt" and constantly monitor the air/fuel ratio. They help with both economy and power if tuned correctly.

The car had Hondata but that was with the boost option which I sold with the turbo kit I took off. I took it to a shop in north Houston that obiously didn't listen too well and just heard "stock settings...". All they did was set the rev limit and fuel cut. I guess I'll be installing an O2 sensor and taking it for a tune. They quoted me $400 for software and dyno tune when I had the turbo. Maybe it'll be cheaper now.
