When my car gets to about 1/4 tank it is like it runs out of gas, but there is gas in the tank. Then when you put more gas in it works. What the heck is goin on?

Is there a chance your needle is bad? How do you know you have fuel in the tank? Do you drop it?

how do you know there is gas in it??? do you take out the sending unit and look in the tank... or do you just read the guage because the sending unit could be off by 1/4 of a tank and you realy could be running out of gas

i have the same prob bro. check the fuel pump the float mighta come off that wat happened to me it died at 1/3 to 1/4 tank left and i had gas left, but when i filled up she ran normal. the float is the orange colored thing at the end of the fuel pump line that hangs at the bottom of the tank to get all the gas.

I know there's still gas left because I press the trip reset when I fill up with gas
