Well I finally got that beast into place. I just used a 2x4 on the inside metal part of the axels that goes into the tranny and banged the crap out of it with a hammer and it went right in. Been driving the civic all night and it drives good. Just has a bit of an eratic idle when the car is rolling. As long as I am stopped it idles steady, although a bit high, probably about 1300 rpms. I thought it might be the tps. Anyone else?

Bleed your coolant there could be air in the idle air control valve (iacv) its on the back of the intake manny. I am somewhat sure that it checks the coolant temp and detects when it is hot and then it lowers your rpm. Or check your fast idle valve (fiv) under the tb.

An easy way to check them is pull off your intake tube so you can see inside the tb. There should be two holes in front of the butterfly. Start your car let it warm up and leave it running. Now go check those holes see if they are sucking air, if one is then put your finger over it, if it idles down to normal 700rpm or so then thats your problem. The bottom hole is for the fiv.

good luck

well I just drained and refilled the coolant before the motor swap so I dunno if its that. Tomorrow i'm going to remove the TB and clean all the sensor and see if that helps.
