Hey guys im a new member to this forum. I just bought a 97 Honda Civic EK (funds didnt grace me enough to let me buy a Vti-R). I was wondering what I could do to beef up my civic a few more kilowatts just to give me that extra grunt. It has a few engine modifications already such as an exhaust tip, and a 3A Racing filter. What else could I do without breaking the bank?

Well as i am a p plater im bound by laws which dont allow me to use forced induction. I was thinking more bolt on mods that can give me gains of about 10 to 15 kilowatts?

My suggestion would be what I always read here. First, ser a target HP or KW goal. Figure out what you wish to do from the start, so you don't end up wasting money on things you won't really enjoy. Second, figure out which way to get there. Different combinations of parts get different results. Thirds, find some nearby Dyno and a good tuner, because WHATEVER you do to your car, you need to tune it to work with that new stuff. I did my tuning just after adding Intake, Header, and exhaust = no cat and it gifted me 8 extra whp, just from tuning.

Sorry forgot you already set the goal. If thats your true goal, 1 kw = 1.3hp. . .
10 kw = 13 hp
15 kw = 19.5 hp
You COULD maybe achieve this with what I did, I/H/E with a GOOD header and a GREAT tune, I think. Those who know better about this, please correct me. But you will also need to make sure your car is running good, and clean. Good luck!

^^^^AHAHAHAHAHAHA
The best thing to do is save the money you would spend on parts for the single and use it towards a B swap or boost. DONT USE EBAY TURBO KITS.... they will just mess up your car. Which engine do you currently have?

he said without breaking the bank, that d sereis will eat your b16 witha ebay turbo kit, and u laugh all u want the hatch ran a rev hard kit. i dont buy junk, currently run stroked h22. so while your b16 is boosted my h22 is keeping the same numbers as u and doing it safely bro. he asked and if there is a better way than that to get quick power cheap than why dont u tell him.. it seems like someone is jealous of anything that isnt a b16, laughing coming from someone who thought a p2p was a jumper harness. hahahahahahaaaaahaha

And he said he can't use forced induction by law.
So just drop it.
To add about junkyard kits... I wouldn't want to buy someone else's junkyard kit. All the ones I know about run like ***.

There's a law that says you can't use forced induction?

Obviously you can't for most parts, but most "home made turbo kits" are junkyard raids using mitsubishi and other DSM turbo parts such as the turbo, wastegate, injectors, etc.. A home made turbo is a lot of mix and match ****.
