New LED turn signals in the rear, how to fix fast blinkers?
I just recently replaced my regular incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs in the back turn signals. They light up fine but I am left with very fast blinking. What are my options? Is it possible to get a different relay that can withstand the lower wattage for my car? (or heavy duty relays as some would call them) By the way my car is a 96 civic LX. I've also heard of installing load resistors that you wire in parallel with the wiring to the bulbs. Where would I purchase something like this? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Patrick.

try autozone or you local parts store. autozone sells the led replacement. Along with the load resistor if needed.

from my exp, i would avoid the ceramic ones. I replaced all bulbs in the back with LEDS. I was running relays or resistors on all the bulbs at one point to get the "tail light" off my instrument dash, but i got over it . You do need them on the turn signals to get rid of the fast blinking. I am having an issue with my left one right now. I have had to replace the ceramic ones but you can get metal ones from places like superbrightleds.com and what not. you pretty much splice them onto the two wires that lead to the bulb.

It's going to be more of a load resistance issue than a relay related problem.
Doing a parallel resistor will bring the flashing back to normal speed.
As far as where to get them, any local car electronics shop will have resistors laying around (used for remote starter applications) that they can sell to you.

Save time without all the splicing and get an electronic flasher relay. Take the OEM one out and put this in. Fast blinker problem solved.

They sell an LED-specific, drop-in relay for your car. That's what you need to solve your problem.

and this is what will slow down the actual flashing of the bulb correct ( sorry im not good with wiring ) because my right side is totally fine ( even with the LED in the back )

Close, but not quite.

Use the Flasher Finder tool to find the right one for your car. Before ordering, verify against the OEM unit to make sure you're getting the right one.
