New To The Board. DIY Site For Brake Pad Change
Hi Guys. New to the board. I have a 98 Civic EX. Brakes are starting to squeal. Besides tech manuals. are thare any do-it-yourself web sites for doing a brake pad change. Did a search and no luck. Also, could you guys recommend a good set of brake pads. Don't care for peformance stuff. Just something that will last and have little dusting. Any links will be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: New To The Board. DIY Site For Brake Pad Change (CKS)
when u take off your wheel look at the back of the caliper... there are 2 bolts holding the caliper in place... not the bolts to the arm... but the ones holding the brake actually together...
see on the top and bottom there are two bolts that hold it in place... it has a rubber cover on the bolt as well in the middle... beween the two brake pieces (i dont know technical names... take the bottom bolt off... pull from the bottom and the caliper will slide out and up... use a c-clamp to compress the caliper for the new pads... put the new pads in place (actually sitting on the rotor) and slide the caliper back into place (to do this is MUST be compressed enough though) put the bolt back on and tighten it...
as for bleeding the brakes... i can can but u dont really need to imo... that should be all... repeat on te other side and ur done
