there should be few number's and letter's above the drain plug..in a little circle...one of then should start with a or b which is it ?

all I can tell from the pics is that it is a b-series trans. ysk must be the company that casts the casings, that stamp is on every trans. the # on the clutch fork doesnt mean anything.
If there is no stamping or vin# plate, you will need to take it apart and start counting teeth, or put it in the car and check rpm in each gear at a certain speed.

on both of my hatches.. there is a barcoded sticker (which can fall off) with a number on it right next to the engine block code (s/b near where tranny meets block). hope that helps.

how many teeth is it suppose to have for a b16 trans and what rpm/mph im suppose to be at with a b16 trans. 4000rpm = 80mph ?
